Abstract
We have developed GUNGEN (groupware for a new idea generation consistent support system) which supports KJ method known as an idea generation method in Japan. The narrow-sense KJ method consists of three steps: brainstorming, grouping ideas into islands and writing a conclusion composition. Moreover, GUNGEN supports the broad-sense KJ method called as `consistent KJ method´ that includes collecting ideas phase. The broad-sense KJ method that includes collecting ideas phase using PDA is compared with the result of the narrow sense KJ method performed by GUNGEN and conventional method on paper The result shows that the broad-sense XI method with PDA saved total conference time, in especially brainstorming step, and another parameter is similar to that of conventional GUNGEN using
