Abstract
A practical monitoring scheme for remotely supervising high-voltage power transmission lines through radio and intelligently diagnosing their operation situations based on a fuzzy expert systems (FES) approach is presented in this paper. The monitoring procedure finally provides operators with the power-line operation state and faults, if any, as well as the corresponding causes, which are deduced by the FES reasoning mechanism. The paper mainly focuses on the outline of the monitoring construction and its related principles for remote data transmission and intelligent reasoning.
