Abstract
The parameters of maximum zero/pole ratio phase-lead controllers for control systems are determined according to a graphic process, which is presented in the control literature without any mathematical explanation. The controller design is aimed at making the system to have a specified dominant pair of complex poles. The analytical treatment of the problem leads to very simple formulas, whereby the controller parameters can be quickly and accurately calculated
