Abstract
China is turning into a manufacturing center of the world in the process of relocation of manufacturing industry to developing countries. However, developing countries´ proportion of the total manufacturing value added has not seen a notable increase along past 20 years according to statistics. Substantial increase of such proportion and upgrading of competitiveness hinges on predominating core technology or upgrading technology integration capabilities in the field of advanced manufacturing. In this talk, it will focus on following topics: 1. Distribution of Manufacturing value added (MVA) and competitiveness analysis; 2. Challenges and opportunities of China´s manufacturing industry; 3. Strategic objectives and priorities in the field of advanced manufacturing under National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program); 4. Application of integrated technologies in advanced manufacturing.
