Abstract
In this paper, we present a new algorithm to magnify images. Using this algorithm, we can prevent deterioration of image quality when images are magnified. Image details can not be obtained by conventional interpolation method. Therefore, we obtain polynomial approximation of amplitude of low frequency parts, and we expand the approximated curve to high frequency parts. These high frequency components are used as high frequency spectrum. When the amplitude is changed, the phase is also changed because amplitude and phase are not independent of each other. So, phase is changed by this extrapolation process. We propose an algorithm to correct the phase by using Hilbert transform. We apply this algorithm to magnify digital images. Using these techniques, we can obtain higher quality magnified images
