Abstract
A great number of papers devoted to the investigation of nonstationary radiation of wire antennas were published, but most of them have a theoretical character. In the well-known experimental works the electromagnetic field was radiated and registered near a metal surface. To use ultrawideband (UWB) impulse signals in practice, it is required to radiate and receive signals in free space. The study of peculiarities of UWB impulse signal radiation and reception was carried out taking as an example a long conductor disposed perpendicularly to a metal plate, the most simple arrangement for investigation
