  • Abstract
    The inverted-F antenna is well known as a low-profile and low wind-loading antenna appropriate for mobile communications. It has a hemispherical radiation pattern, which is advantageous in multipath environments; however, its directive gain in the vertical plane is not high to communicate with other stations in the horizontal direction. A posted T-monopole antenna with parasitic elements is proposed as a wideband wire antenna for such applications. Feed structures improving the impedance bandwidth and reducing the undesired radiation towards the north-pole direction are mainly discussed. Analysis is carried out using the method of moments (Hirasawa, K. and Haneishi, M., 1992).
