  • Abstract
    A simple technique to position a mobile node inside a building based on the Received Signal Strength (RSS) of wireless LAN (WLAN) is proposed. Compared to existing positioning algorithm, it is more economical, of low complexity and high-precision. To evaluate the position estimation accuracy of the proposed algorithm, we developed the prototype system and experimented in our office. The result presents that the proposed algorithm has higher accuracy with low complexity.
