  • Abstract
This paper introduces a method which can detect the optic-axis parallelism for vehicle observation and aiming systems by using the position sensitive detector (PSD) based on original position. The measurement reference is formed by adjusting the relative position between this detection system and observation and aiming system with accuracy. The bend-over design of optic path compresses the big axis distance into small, reduces the size of the detection system and enhances its stability. The use of high precision PSD to detect the light spot position simplifies the system structure and improves its accuracy. From the results of the error model analysis and experiments, the accuracy of this system can reach to 10".
