  • Abstract
The optical pickup is the major part of the CD-ROM drive. For the optical pickup to have good characteristics, adjustment is needed. Therefore for the adjustment of the optical pickup, a system must be devised which has the precision mechanism, servo drive and measurement circuit unit characteristics of a CD-ROM drive and which can also perform an adjustment function as well. The mechanism part must be designed so that the clamping and unclamping of the CD and the work, that is, the optical pickup is easy to use. It is also equipped with the adjustment bit driver to align optical elements. The circuit part must have the pickup servo drive and a robust structure. It must also have a specified measurement circuit module for adjustment. This paper shows the development of the system for the adjustment of an optical pickup
