Abstract
A novel design of planar electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure with super cell configuration for mitigating simultaneous switching noise (SSN) is proposed. A wide bandgap covering the frequency range from 250 MHz to 5 GHz is demonstrated experimentally. The radiation leaking through this perforated plane is also carefully investigated. Finally a novel concept of using this EBG structure for electromagnetic interference (EMI) reduction is introduced
