Abstract
According to the binary nonlinear non-uniformity theories model a novel non-uniformity correction method considering both the nonlinearity and surrounding temperature shift of infrared focal plane array response is proposed. The implementing procedure is described in detail. The correction quality of one point non-uniformity correction, multi-point non-uniformity correction and surrounding temperature compensation non-uniformity correction are discussed in the paper. Both qualitative evaluation and quantitative test comparison are performed among several correction technologies with a 320 ×240 uncooled infrared focal plane array. Their correction precision is evaluated by residual non uniformity quantificationally. The variation of correction precision with different target temperature is analyzed by residual non-uniformity trend chart. Experimental results show that their residual non-uniformity trend chart of one point non-uniformity correction and multi-point non uniformity correction are perfectly consistent with former theoretical analysis. The residual non-uniformity corrected by proposal algorithm is less than that of conventional correction methods and latest reported result. Real-time imaging indicates this new method improve the image quality clearly.
