Abstract
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 42nd European Microwave Conference (EuMC), taking place in the Amsterdam RAI in the Netherlands. Forty-two is an age at which a person has reached a state of maturity: one still has a lot of the strength of a youngster, one has acquired the ability to put things in perspective and yet a bright future is still waiting. The same is true for the EuMC: at the age of forty-two the EuMC is in the prime of its life, fully in balance with its past and looking forward to an exciting future. As the central event of European Microwave Week it exists in perfect harmony with EuMIC and EuRAD, with which it shares several sessions.
