Abstract
This paper presents a new load balance algorithm for the three-phase unbalanced distribution systems. Feeder load balance and phase load balance were both considered to avoid feeder violations. Two current indices were developed separately to deal with the problem. This algorithm could confine the size of the solution state-space, and avoid complex numerical computations. Computer simulations show that this algorithm is very effective in both the planning and operational environments
