Abstract
In this paper, some analyses to statistics on reliability performance of operating HVDC systems throughout the world were made. The computation on reliability indices of the HVDC system was carried out. Based on them, the recommended reliability indices of the Three Gorges HVDC system were given. Some methods to improve the system reliability were presented
