Abstract
This paper presents a new multipath estimation method for GPS signals that suppresses positioning error caused by multipath signals whose number is unknown. We also propose a novel technique in converting a C-A code into a shorter code, which saves 98 percent of memory necessary for the multipath estimation while preserving accuracy in code delay estimation. Results of our numerical simulation show that the code delay estimation error is close to the Cramer-Rao lower bound.
