  • Abstract
    A 1-D dielectric periodic structure which consisted of five periodic plane layers was placed into a standard waveguide with rectangular cross-section. Waveguides are fully shut and electromagnetic wave attenuation is secured up to -35 dB over the whole operating frequency range of the waveguide. Following the perturbation brought into the periodic structure the passing peak at frequency 44.6 GHz was formed in the band-gap. Transmission characteristics of the periodic structure and structure with defect are obtained. The approximate evaluation of the range of magnetic permeability change with the change of magnetic field is in good agreement with the experimental results.
