Abstract
In this paper, we design and realize a type of dual-polarization base station antenna on the basis of an L-strip patch antenna for mobile communication. To improve the polarization isolation of the antenna, a novel scheme is proposed which uses the two adjacent units to counteract the coupled components. In order to allow the antenna´s vertical pattern to accord with the requirements, a genetic algorithm is used to compute the optimal spacing between units and feed phase of every unit. The array antenna of four units is tested and the results are satisfactory.
