  • Abstract
    We investigate the 1.55-μm CATV lightwave systems using 1480-nm locally- and remotely-pumped amplified techniques for the first time. Satisfactory performances are achieved for locally-pumped system over a 127-km standard fiber. System design of the remotely-pumped repeaterless system for inter-islands and island-hopping are also discussed
