Abstract
The parameters and schemes play an important role in a genetic algorithm (GA) and how to select them is still a controversial topic. This paper presents a study on the selection of the parameters and the schemes in the optimization of the fragment-type tag antenna, and gives the best schemes and the appropriate value ranges of the parameters. Results reveal that the scheme performance is closely related with the parameters and an appropriate selection may lead to a considerable computational saving.
