Abstract
By adopting the law on transmission, regulator and operator of the system of electric power in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina has established the initial legal framework for regulation of electric power sector and establishment of electric power market. The most important part of these activities relate to establishment of clear regulatory mechanisms which will guarantee implementation of regulation rules founded on the law, which will be implemented by an independent regulatory bodies. The role of the market in electric power is constantly growing which makes the electric power a key segment of the economy. Concerning the question of development of electric power market so far, the organization and property relation in some countries, there is no uniform solution or previously determined rules. Higher level of uniformity is achieved only on technical level in segment where standardization in production of equipment was necessary. For everything else, from economic relations to legislation and property relations, there are specific solutions on national level
