Abstract
The bit error rate (BER) performance of a DS-CDMA receiver which consists of a RAKE receiver followed an adaptive MLSE diversity receiver is proposed to simultaneously suppress multi user interference and multi path fading interference. A new adaptive equalization in the channel estimator and predictor of the MLSE receiver is introduced. The RLS algorithm is used for the adaptive channel estimator. The Euclidean distance of the branch metric of the adaptive MLSE is computed by using the estimated channel impulse response and the channel input sequence. The results show that, the proposed model is useful to improve the performance of the DS-CDMA system in a fading channel and the capacity of the DS-CDMA system can be increased
