  • Abstract
The fundamental characteristics of continuously ejected ink jet with 26 μm nozzle have been examined. Since the mass of droplets is extremely small, aerodynamic resistance on droplet train has shown significant effect. The train of droplets is decelerated with this aerodynamic resistance. Deflected droplets are much more decelerated than the train of undeflected ones. Depending on the charging pattern on droplet train, the coalescence of droplets is frequently observed. A simple mathematical model of charged droplet trajectories was proposed by assuming a viscous coefficient. The proposed viscous coefficient became approximately 0.5~0.6
