  • Abstract
    Information and communication enabled health care services are expanding very rapidly. To meet the need of skilled human resources in this emerging field there is need of creating academic centers to teach and train people. Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, India has taken a progressive step in this direction. An academic center dedicated to telemedicine and bio-medical informatics is coming up in a built-up area of 2500 sq. meter in its campus. An elaborate enterprise wide telemedicine and videoconferencing network has been conceptualized. Planning and implementation of this complex network, which is going to be integrated with existing hospital information system network is the matter of this presentation.
