  • Abstract
The use of fundamental matrices in solving electromagnetic field problems is considered, and it is noted that this approach has made higher-order finite-element analysis simplified and attractive. Two permutation rules for generating fundamental matrices are presented. One rule is similar to the rotation permutation already available but is easier to follow. The other rule has not previously been reported as far as the authors know. The first involves matrix multiplication while the second does not. The two rules are equally efficient and require the same amount of storage
