Abstract
This paper summarizes results of an ongoing theoretical and experimental program at Rome Laboratories aimed at developing methodologies for the meaningful characterization and accurate testing of shielding gaskets. Closed form equations are presented which relate the total power radiated from an enclosure with a gasketed seam and the gasket transfer impedance, ZT. These results provide the link between manufacturer supplied ZT and enclosure shielding effectiveness. The results also provide the basis for a meaningful methodology for measuring ZT by radiating into a reverberation chamber
