Abstract
This study contributes to the understanding of the adsorption mechanisms on solid substrates of polar and nonpolar molecules able to intervene in the domain of pollution. It shows the specific interactions between the pollution molecules and the solids which are able to restrain them. The new adsorption models are found and they allow the modelling of the parameters intervening in inverse gas chromatography. A new method for characterising acid-base of solid adsorbents is also considered
