Abstract
The action programme set out in the Bologna Declaration is based on a clearly defined common goal; to create a European space for higher education in order to enhance the employment and the mobility of citizens and to increase the international competitiveness of the European higher education system. To do it, some technical problems must be solved, and consequently, important changes in education methods are necessary. For example, to obtain most of thermodynamic cycle´s parameters, professors and students use several equations systems that will require at least about one hour to solve each simple case of a cycle, being the student´s attendance essential. Therefore, the time left to do a deep analysis and to reach to conclusions is very short and most of the students can not follow classes due to the fact that they either join part of the course or they work. So, in present paper the software EES (Engineering Equation Solver) was chosen as the best answer to teach the Thermodynamics cycles. The results of the present study showed that with the proposed new learning method, it was reached the same objectives but in less time.
