  • Abstract
Macroscopic systems of parallel identical isolated nanowires with diameters in the range from 2 to 15 nm and length of up to 1 cm composed of metals and semiconductors were prepared within the nanochannels of natural chrysotile asbestos by filling it with molten materials under high pressure. The transport properties of such systems (weak localization in metallic nanowires, influence of fluctuations on superconductivity, Luttinger-liquid-like behavior in semiconductor nanowires) are presented.
