Abstract
Overexcitation limiters have been provided with excitation systems for a long time, but have not been modeled in power system dynamic simulations. The possibility of voltage collapse in modern, stressed power systems makes modeling these limiters essential. The Bureau of Reclamation has performed tests and determined parameters to use in the IEEE recommended overexcitation limiter model for several different types of excitation systems from various manufacturers
