  • Abstract
The conventional time-domain simulation of transient stability requires iterative calculation procedures to consider the saliency of the generator. However, the iterative approach has two crucial disadvantages: (i) it takes much time in calculation due to the iteration, and (ii) the convergence is not guaranteed for the low voltage cases during the fault period. This study proposes a new noniterative algorithm to overcome these disadvantages by adopting the dynamic load modeling, which can reflect the load-voltage dependencies. Given internal voltages and rotor angles of the generators, generator currents can be directly calculated by solving a linear algebraic equation, which enables us to reduce the computation time remarkably and enhances the accuracy and the reliability in the time-simulation of transient stability. The possibility of on-line simulation of stability analysis is also discussed
