Abstract
An application of Wiener-Hopf (W-H) techniques for the exact study of the truncation in an overmoded circular waveguide is presented. This method obtains closed exact forms of the general scattering matrix for all the propagating and evanescent modes considered. Results on coupling and reflection coefficients for any mode are obtained. The radiative part of the scattering matrix was derived to carry on the design and the analysis of a multimode circular feed taking into account critical aspects such as: radiation in near field, scattering at large angles, and design of matching networks.<>
