Abstract
Workflow management is based on business process modeling. Choosing an efficient modeling technique for the formalization of complicated and variable business process is very important to the construction of flexible workflow management. Taking the advantages of Petri nets, to construct business process model which is flexible and analytical. Firstly, related workflow modeling techniques based on Petri nets are introduced, and mapping of the Petri net to the execution of the workflow model is described. Meanwhile a specific case based on the Petri net techniques is proposed. Finally, the average performance time is analyzed by using knowledge of stochastic Petri nets and the probability theory, which shows that modeling technology based on Petri nets is more rational and efficient.
