  • Abstract
The continuing development of monolithic microwave integrated circuits has led to the development of active phased arrays for radar and communications applications. Active receive phased arrays have advantages in reliability over conventional receive antenna phased array systems and the noise figure of active receive arrays can be fixed at the element level. Lee (see IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag., vol.41, no.2, p.241, 1993) has analyzed the G/T of active receive phased array antennas and examined the dependance of the noise figure on various loss terms and combining networks. In this paper we present the measured results of the G/T of a 91-element, 20-GHz active receive phased array antenna and compare our measured results to the analytical results of Lee.<>
