Abstract
The Distributed Control System is a network-oriented controller for various machines like industrial robots and assembly machines. Instead of a large centralized controller, this system is composed of a number of modules interconnected through 5 Mbit/s network. The author has developed three types of module: Servo Module, I/O Module and Display Module. They have powerful CPUs and are small enough to be embedded in machines. The author developed a compact monitor software running on these modules. An experimental application is presented to illustrate the advantages of this system.<>
