Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
CuMg/Al oxides with mesoporous properties derived from hydrotalcites were synthesized by the co-precipitation and thermal evolution methods, and their catalytic activity was investigated for soot combustion by the Temperature programmed Oxidation (TPO) technique. The incorporation of Cu into hydrotalcites structure strongly influences the crystallite phase, surface area and redox properties of the catalysts. In catalytic soot oxidation reactions, Cu incorporation decreased both the combustion temperatures and the apparent activation energies (Ea) for the formation of carbon dioxide. The enhancement of soot oxidation activities with increase of Cu content may be related to the improvement of reducibility. The 3.0Cu-800 sample shows the best activity with Ti = 260°C All the Cu-containing catalysts have 100% selectivity towards CO2.
