Abstract
During a product and/or service development life cycle, testing is one of critical processes to ensure the quality of the product or service before delivering to a customer. Ideally quality assurance is enforced from the beginning of the development life cycle, so that problems can be discovered early and cost of rework can be reduced. However, the industry has not been able to eliminate the need for extensive testing. With continuing customer demands for shorter cycle time and better quality, testing takes on a new meaning and requires innovative methodologies to assure quality results. Due to the growth in global business, ISO 9000 becomes a much more important set of quality standards for dealing with product or service quality issues among global suppliers and customers. This paper first presents an overview of a product and service development process and focuses on the testing methodologies and their relationship to ISO 9000
