Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
Three-stage aged refuse biofilter was applied to treat landfill leachate in Shanghai Waste Laogang Disposal Plant. The removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD), ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N), E.Coli of the landfill leachate treated by the three-stage biofilter system were 98.0%, 99.9%, 99.7% and 99.7% respectively. When the ozone dosage was 262 mg L-1, the removing efficiencies of COD and color were 43.7% and 94.3% respectively. The biodegradability of the effluent was greatly improved (BOD5/COD=0.47). The COD concentration after biofilm reactor treatment would be less than 100 mg L-1 when the dosage of ozone was >;235 mg L-1. Ozone oxidation and biofilm reactor could be considered as promising advanced treatment method after biological process in landfill leachate treatment.
