Abstract
A new method to determine the scattering and absorption behavior of dry snow based on radiometric measurements is presented. Brightness temperatures of homogeneous samples were measured in the frequency range from 11 to 94 GHz to calculate transmissivities and reflectivities including a type of attenuation coefficient. Full characterization of the samples has been done including determination of autocorrelation functions. The authors discuss the relationship between radiometric and physical parameters of the snow samples
