Abstract
A single-chip encryption processor has been developed that is capable of encrypting large volumes of text data and file data stored in memory or encrypting multimedia data including voice and audiovisual data in real time. The encryption processor performs simultaneous real-time encryption and decryption processing of full-duplex bit serial data at a rate of 5 Mbit/s. When encrypting text or file data stored in memory, the processor realizes a processing throughput of 10 Mbytes/s
