  • Abstract
    In order to study low-cycle plastic failure mechanism of steel bars, a number of cylindrical steel bars were tested on the material testing machine INSTRON 1341 servo. Through the axial deformation under the given repeatedly loading, then the steel bars´ fatigue life at different strain amplitudes have been measured. Consequently, the different fatigue life between the below yielding state and the achievement of yielding state has been obtained. Finally, the steel bars´ actual life is less than the displacement amplitude cyclic loading test has been verified.
