  • Abstract
    Magnetization quality is one of key factors determining the performance of single phase brushless direct current (BLDC) motor and high speed production line requires better magnetization quality test method. In this paper, the relationship between back electromotive force (BEMF) and magnetization of permanent magnet (PM) is thoroughly analyzed, and a novel practical BEMF test method based on the winding time-sharing, self-starting and switching-power-off to measure, is proposed to check the magnetization quality. Some checking criteria to guarantee the motor performance are also developed. The experiments show this BEMF check method is very easy to operate, time-saving and suitable for magnetization monitor in the high speed production line. And the experimental results confirm that both BEMF test method and checking criteria are effective
