Abstract
Electrochemical micromachining is an electrochemical dissolution micro process that can remove electrically conductive materials with the transferring of ions, so that high precision is achievable. This study develops a wire electrochemical micromachining process. Based on electrochemical principle, the mechanism of wire electrochemical micromachining with nanosecond pulses was investigated. The computerized numerical control system of wire electrochemical micromachining is developed. Experiments have been carried out to investigate the influence of the diameter of wire electrode and pulse parameters of power supply on machining accuracy. Various microgrooves in width of 20μm were experimental obtained.
