Abstract
Main attention is devoted to results in the study of dynamic and spectral characteristics of the asymmetric multiple-quantum-well heterostructure (AMQWH) lasers with active regions of different widths and compositions. Recent results in development of superluminescence diodes, polarization insensitive optical amplifiers, broadband tunable laser diodes, quantum cascade lasers, and other optoelectronic elements, including their various applications are also shortly indicated.
