  • Abstract
With the widespread growth of applications of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), the need for reliable security mechanisms these networks has increased manifold. In this paper, we first review the desired security services from WSN perspective. The crucial problem in WSN is position estimation or Localization, due to their dynamic method of deployment, and the greatest challenge imposed is in communicating with their authenticated neighbors, their precise location in a secured manner. Against the popular belief that public key cryptographic schemes are not practical for sensors, an authentication technique which makes use of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) along with the positioning scheme is implemented. Finally, we provide algorithms to determine their location in presence of neighbor sensors that may lie about their position.
