Abstract
The modem and cryptographic synchronizer of a secure terminal were modified to allow operation over the cellular network. The changes allowed the terminal to support secure voice traffic with voice quality similar to that achieved by fixed terminals. In the case of data traffic, a bit error rate (BER) of 10-5 was obtained, with no error correction coding, and the mobile terminal was not handed off to a different base station
