Abstract
This paper presents a proposal to improve active data session handovers (HO) between networks, Mid-Call mobility, by using a different implementation of the well known SIP based HO. A testbed has been built to prove the solution. This paper compares the proposed implementation to the existing SIP based Mid-Call HO to show the benefits in terms of speed and packet loss during intradomain mobility; therefore improving the perceived quality during handovers for real time sessions such as VoIP calls.
