Abstract
Reflector antennas have been used in microwave communications for many years. Research on reflector antennas in the past has been primarily focused on paraboloids. The cylindrical reflector antenna is impractical because of the large number of elements required in the feed array. Limited design information on this kind of antenna is available in the literature. In this paper, a parabolic cylindrical reflector antenna consisting of a cylindrical reflector with parabolic cross section and a rectangular microstrip patch linear array feed along the focal line is studied by the physical-optics technique. Radiation patterns and gain are determined. The result is useful for the design of low cost satellite TV receiving antennas.<>
