  • Abstract
This paper introduces the nonlinear speed control scheme for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive. Based on the designed nonlinear sliding-mode control tracking a linear reference model, the adaptive backstepping control approach is utilized to derive the control scheme, which is robust to the mismatched parameter uncertainties and load torque disturbance. With the proposed control, the controlled PMSM drive have the advantages of good transient performance, which can be regulated through the design of a linear reference and the dynamic behaviors of the nominal system. Finally, some simulation results are demonstrated to validate the proposed controller.
