  • Abstract
Pump hydraulic performance analysis is done with a CAD (computer-aided design) program called FLOW. MAGSAT/FLOW is an interaction format used to define the functional interdependence of volumetric pulsatile flow with the physical design parameters of pump force, strike volume, valve-port characteristics, and after-load forces. It is shown that the MAGSAT/FLOW CAD format is very effective in evaluating design parameter change efficiency in terms of the interaction between actuator force and specific pump chamber design factors. Its greatest benefit is the large cost reduction achieved by the elimination of physical fabrication costs of trial and error hardware models.<>
